For iPad and Apple Pencil

The notebook that understands what you wrote.

You write with Apple Pencil on a dot-grid page, just like paper. Jotwise reads your handwriting on your iPad and sends your tasks, events, and ideas where you’ll look for them.

Coming soon to the App Store How it works

Requires iPadOS 27. Free 7-day trial with everything, then an annual subscription.

A symbol at the start of the line

Every page has a one-square-wide strip on the left. What you write there says what each line is, in the style of the BuJo method. You can also create your own symbols.

Outside the strip, everything is text: a dot in the middle of a sentence doesn’t become a task.

  • TaskGoes to Pending
  • EventAn appointment or a meeting
  • IdeaSomething you don’t want to lose
  • NoteA fact, no action
  • QuestionSomething to resolve
  • ContextA detail for the line above

Your ink stays as you wrote it

Next to each symbol you wrote, the same symbol appears in clean form. If the app read it wrong, tap it and change it; your correction stays even when the page is read again. What you wrote by hand is never changed.

Reveal text (⌘⇧R) shows what was read on top of your ink so you can check it.

A Jotwise dot-grid page with eight lines of ink. Each symbol in the strip has the same symbol in clean form beside it, and a panel on the right lists every line with its type.

Pending: your open tasks in one list

Every line that starts with • goes to the notebook’s Pending list. Check it off or migrate it: to today, to next month, to a date, or mark it irrelevant.

An index that builds itself

The Dynamic Index groups your pages by line type, by month, and by notebook, without writing an index by hand.

Search what you wrote by hand

Search covers all your notebooks and runs on your iPad. With Apple Intelligence you can also search with a phrase, like “last week’s tasks about the budget.”

A search for the word “Proposal” across handwriting, with results from two notebooks and a notice that the search runs on the iPad.

Apple Intelligence, if you have it

On iPads with Apple Intelligence, Jotwise can suggest things: search with a phrase, summarize a notebook, or suggest a reminder. It all runs on your iPad, you confirm every suggestion, and nothing is applied on its own. Without Apple Intelligence, the rest of the app works the same.

Annual subscription, with a 7-day free trial

You start with a free 7-day trial with everything. When it ends, you’re charged the annual price the App Store shows in your country, and the subscription renews automatically every year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. You cancel in iPadOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions. If you don’t subscribe or you cancel, your notes are still yours: you can open, read, search, export, and delete them.
